The Sport and Entertainment Business Association (SEBA) will host one-on-one mock interviews in the Mike Ilitch School of Business on Monday, Oct. 25, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. During this event, students will have the opportunity to directly engage and network with employers from professional Detroit sports and entertainment organizations, including:

  • Detroit Pistons
  • Detroit Lions
  • Rocket Mortgage Classic
  • Detroit Symphony Orchestra
  • Detroit City Football Club

Students will attend four sessions with different employers. Each session involves 15 minutes of interviewing followed by five minutes of direct feedback and discussion. No matter the academic level, major or interview experience, all Wayne State University students are eligible and welcome to attend this one-of-a-kind event, which can potentially lead to further opportunities with respective employers.

Becoming comfortable in interviews and an ability to highlight experiences and interests is an important part of professional development and future success. As the corporate world transitions from the pandemic — where all interviewing was conducted remotely — SEBA wants to help students gain confidence in in-person interviews, refine their interpersonal skills and gain key ideas of what interviewers look for in prospective candidates.

Students must RSVP for this event by Oct. 21 using this form.*

Along with this event, SEBA conducts a variety of other events that include volunteer activities, professional guest speakers, workshops and more. Other upcoming events include:

Wednesday, Nov. 3: Sports Marketing Guest Speaker (Darryl Maxwell, Communications / Media Planner, Nike & Jordan Brand with Wieden and Kennedy) VIA ZOOM

Wednesday, Dec. 1: The Impact of Name, Image, and Likeness Rule Changes in College Athletics (Panel Speaking Event) VIA ZOOM

*This event will take place in coordination with campus and university guidelines on COVID-19 protocols and safety, with the use of face masks and Campus Daily Screeners required.
