Stephen Guy named new Alumni Council president

Steve GuyStephen Guy, Wayne State alumnus and senior vice president and private banking manager at the Bank of Ann Arbor, has been named the new president of the Mike Ilitch School of Business Alumni Council.

Members of the Alumni Council are selected for their distinction within their respective fields, community involvement and commitment to the advancement of the Mike Ilitch School of Business.

Guy said he’s excited to take on the new role after seeing the good the alumni council has done in the two years he has been a council member.

“I’m at a point in my life where I have more time to give back, and I got my MBA from WSU in 2009 and it has really helped me advance my career,” he said. “Now, I want to give back to a school that’s given me so much.”

According to the alumni council guidebook, “The primary purpose of the Alumni Council is to engage alumni and foster relationships, serve as advocates for alumni, support the School’s mission, assist in development activities, and make recommendations to the dean.”

Guy said in his new role, he plans to continue aligning the council with the needs of the Mike Ilitch School of Business and to support the school in a more meaningful way.
