Register Now for Alumni Week Signature Events

The Wayne State University School of Business Administration has opened its doors once again to alumni and friends during its second Alumni Week. This week's two signature events - both scheduled for this Friday, Feb. 21 - are free and open to the public.

Richard H. Austin Lecture Series for Accounting Excellence

 

Friday, Feb. 21
McGregor Memorial Conference Center
Student Workshops: 10 a.m. to Noon
Lunch and Lecture: Noon

 

The keynote speaker is Nathan Garrett, a nationally renowned author and speaker and a trailblazer in the field of public accounting. Under the tutelage of Richard H. Austin, himself, Garrett would become the fifth African American CPA in the state of Michigan. He later moved back to his home state of North Carolina, where he earned a law degree and had a long and illustrious career as a CPA and community leader.

Keynote Lecture: 2 p.m.

Cohosted by WSU's Blackstone LaunchPad and the SBA Student Senate, among others, Spotlight Detroit is a celebration of entrepreneurship and local ventures. The event will include exhibits by, and networking opportunities with, more than 30 of the area's hottest businesses. The keynote speaker will be CEO of Quality Systems Inc. and WSU alum Steve Plochocki.
