Native Detroiter and Ilitch School alumna chosen to lead fundraising efforts

Carol HillDean Robert Forsythe has announced that Carol Hill will join the Mike Ilitch School of Business as the school’s new director of major gifts, effective Nov. 30.

A seasoned and successful fundraiser, Hill will join the Ilitch School from the Wayne State University Law School, where she serves as a senior major gift officer. She previously served in a similar role for University of Delaware’s College of Engineering and spent seven years running development offices for elementary schools in Chicago and Philadelphia. Prior to finding what she calls her “true calling” in the world of philanthropy, Hill spent 20 years as a systems analyst and project manager for both corporate and non-profit entities.

A fourth-generation native Detroiter and Wayne State alumna, Hill has an M.B.A. from the Ilitch School as well as a B.S. in engineering from Michigan State University.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to inspire investments from those who believe in the Ilitch School’s potential to impact its students and to drive the revitalization of Detroit and beyond,” Hill said. “I believe philanthropy can make the difference between good and great, and I look forward to partnering with the faculty, staff, alumni and friends to help the Ilitch School achieve new levels of greatness.
