Lynita Taylor receives 40 Under 40 award from The Michigan Chronicle

Lynita Taylor, diversity and inclusion program manager for the Mike Ilitch School of Business PwC MPREP Scholars, has been selected for the Michigan Chronicle's 40 Under 40 Awards. The awards program, which is in its fourth year, recognizes local African-American professionals who inspire others through their vision, leadership, exceptional achievements and participation in community service.

Under the direction of Taylor, the PwC MPREP Scholars program aims to recruit and retain a diverse body of undergraduate students to prepare them for careers in business. During MPREP’s inaugural year (2018-2019), the program welcomed 39 multicultural students, far exceeding the initial goal of 20. Students in the program hosted community service events supporting Children’s Hospital of Michigan and Downtown Boxing Gym Youth Program. They attended industry office visits to PwC and Deloitte, enjoyed 14 professional and personal development workshops, engaged with at least 26 companies and received monthly mentoring. 16 students gained internships or leadership opportunities with companies such as Ford Motor Company, Doner, PwC, Plante Moran, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs and more.

Taylor and the other honorees will be celebrated at the 2019 Michigan Chronicle 40 Under 40 Awards and Induction Ceremony on Thursday, Oct. 10.
