Ilitch School welcomes three new board members

The Wayne State University Mike Ilitch School of Business is proud to welcome Quincy Allen, William Kingsley and Aubrey Lee, Jr. to its Board of Visitors. Board of Visitors members serve at the invitation of the dean. Their role is to advise and support the dean on the strategic direction and advancement of the school.

Quincy Allen

Quincy Allen is co-founder and managing partner of Arc Capital, a Los Angeles-based real estate platform that targets urban mixed-use environments in the path of millennial growth. In tandem with his business partner, Neville Rhone, Allen is responsible for overall firm strategy.

Allen’s career in the real estate business spans 25 years with over $8 billion of transaction experience. Prior to forming Arc Capital, he was managing director and investment committee member of Canyon Capital Realty Advisors. There, he led the acquisitions team for the Canyon-Johnson Urban Funds, a partnership between the company and Earvin “Magic” Johnson, and invested over $3 billion in urban real estate. Before joining Canyon, Allen held a number of investment positions, including an executive position with Lazard Frères and vice president of Archstone Communities.

Allen is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, Pension Real Estate Association, the National Multi-Housing Council and the International Council of Shopping Centers.

He received his bachelor’s degree in finance from Wayne State University and his MBA from Harvard Business School.

William Kingsley

Bill Kingsley is the Leader of UHY’s Detroit office, a Michigan-based professional services firm that provides audit, attest services, tax and business consulting services. He is responsible for the firm’s specialty tax services and serves as a liaison to UHY International.

Kingsley has over 30 years of experience providing tax planning and strategic business consulting services to both public and privately-held companies. He is a board member for Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars and Downtown Detroit Partnership, and he serves on various committees at the Detroit Athletic Club.  He is also a member of the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

He received his bachelor’s degree in business administration and accounting from Aquinas College and MST in taxation from Grand Valley State University.

Aubrey W. Lee, Jr.

Aubrey Lee, Jr. is first vice president and wealth management advisor at Merrill Lynch. Before joining Merrill Lynch in 1987, Lee worked for seven years at Manufacturers Bank.

In addition to the Ilitch School’s Board of Visitors, he also serves on the board of trustees at Judson Center, a nonprofit human service agency that provides compassionate, comprehensive services to children and families throughout Southeast Michigan. Lee has also held roles on the board of the Urban League of Detroit and Southeast Michigan, City Connect Detroit and Leadership Detroit’s board of trustees as well as being an elder at his church in Plymouth.

At Merrill Lynch, Lee is the current chairperson of the Black and African American Leadership Council and a member of the Merrill Lynch Wealth Management Diversity and Inclusion Council. He is a Bank of America 2018 Global Diversity and Inclusion Award recipient.
