Ilitch School student wins top award for leadership and service

Westin Pulizzi has been selected as a recipient of Wayne State University’s Howard A. Donnelly Award. The award is given each spring to one male and one female student who have made the most outstanding contributions to the university in the areas of student activities, leadership and service.

The last business school student who received this honor was David Topolowski in 2007.

Pulizzi will be graduating with a bachelor’s in global supply chain management. He has accepted a job with Ford Motor Company in the Ford College Graduate rotational program, where he will work in Purchasing.

“From a young age, I have enjoyed being a leader and helping other when I am able to,” he said. “Being recognized with such a prestigious award will only push me further to work harder, hone my skills as a leader and to continue to help other in any capacity I can,” Pulizzi said.

Additionally, he was the 2015-2016 president of the Global Supply Chain Management Association at WSU, as well as a peer mentor in the Warriors Business Community, where he helped tutor and mentor freshman business students.
