Ilitch School management major voted GLIAC Freshman of the Year

After not having the chance to earn all-league recognition a year ago, Mike Ilitch School of Business management major and redshirt freshman Dom Spicer (London, England) has been voted Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Freshman of the Year for 2021 by the league’s head coaches as announced by the conference office.

Spicer compiled a 6-1 mark at first singles in GLIAC play this year, along with a 6-1 record at No. 1 doubles with Luke Laws. He went 2-0 in singles this past weekend at the GLIAC Tournament to improve his season record to 10-4 in singles, with two of his four losses coming against Division 1 opponents.

Wayne State finished the year with an 8-8 overall record and went 8-5 against Division 2 competition in this shortened season.
