Ilitch School lecturer named C2 Pipeline partner of the month
Mike Ilitch School of Business Lecturer of Management Gary Shields has been named “partner of the month” by Wayne State University’s C2 Pipeline program.
C2 Pipeline is a 21st Century Community Learning Center program funded through the Michigan Department of Education. Administered by WSU’s College of Nursing, C2 Pipeline operates in 24 Metro Detroit schools with the goal of college and career readiness. The organization uses hands-on, project-based learning activities in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (S.T.E.M.) to engage students.
Shields has been a supporter of C2 Pipeline since its founding in 2012. He participates in C2 Pipeline's summer programs where he teaches “Entrepreneur 101” day camps. During C2 Pipeline’s Warrior College Experience residential camp, Shields hosted presentation skills workshops and taught dual enrollment courses. Shields also sits on C2 Pipeline’s Steering Committee and promotes the organization through his various acts of service across campus and in the community.
