Ilitch Business student-athletes receive All-GLIAC Team honors for men’s golf

Wayne State University men’s golfers Grant Haefner (management) and Sean Niles (accounting) were named to the All-GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) Teams as announced by the conference office.

Haefner, a redshirt senior, was a First Team honoree and earns GLIAC postseason accolades for the fourth time in his career. It is the second time he has been a member of the All-GLIAC First Team squad as he collected the award following the 2019-20 season. In addition, Haefner was on the All-GLIAC Second Team in 2017-18 and was named to the Honorable Mention Team in 2018-19. In his 10 rounds this spring, he posted a 72.3 stroke average with a low round of 68 and four rounds under par. Haefner had finishes of second, tied-for-seventh, tied-for-seventh and tied-for-15th at the GLIAC Championships. He will be representing the program at the NCAA Super Regionals, which begin on May 6.

Niles, a senior, collected All-GLIAC Second Team accolades. Niles finished with an average round of 73.8 across 10 rounds and had a low round of 69 plus two top-10 results and a top-15 finish.
