Ilitch Business student-athletes receive All-GLIAC recognition for softball
The Wayne State University softball program had a school-record 15 GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) All-Academic recipients for the 2021 season, which is the most in school history and marks the eighth straight year the Warriors have had at least 10 student-athletes receive All-Academic accolades. WSU had 13 total All-Academic Excellence honorees, which obliterated the previous mark of eight that was recorded four times previously. Two of this year’s recipients are Mike Ilitch School of Business student-athletes.
Named to the GLIAC All-Academic Excellence Team for maintaining a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 are juniors Paige Ameel (finance) and Raechel Carroll (management). Ameel and Carroll were named to the All-Academic Excellence Team for the second consecutive year.
