Ilitch Business student-athlete named to All-GLIAC Second Team and All-Defensive Team for men’s basketball
Avery Lewis, Mike Ilitch School of Business global supply chain management major and student-athlete on the WSU men’s basketball team, was honored with All-GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) Second Team honors as well as being named to the All-Defensive Team.
An important part in the success of this year's team, Lewis started all 17 regular-season games and averaged 13.4 points per game. He pulled down 7.6 rebounds per night and shot nearly 54 percent from the floor. Lewis played over 31 minutes per contest and had 12 games scoring in double figures, including three 20-point performances. Lewis saved his best game for the final regular-season contest, when he scored a career-best 24 points to power WSU past Ferris State. Lewis notched three double-doubles during the campaign. He ranked second in the conference in offensive rebounds per game (2.5), fifth in field goal percentage (.539) and sixth in rebounds per game (7.6 RPG).
