Ilitch Business accounting student-athlete earns GLIAC Commissioner’s Award

Jordan Fox, junior Mike Ilitch School of Business accounting major and member of the Wayne State University women’s swimming and diving team, was selected as one of six female GLIAC (Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) Commissioner’s Award recipients for the winter sports season.

The GLIAC Commissioner’s Awards are presented after the fall, winter and spring athletic seasons to six female and six male student-athletes that excel both in the classroom and in competition.

Fox becomes the 13th member of the WSU women’s swimming and diving squad to receive a GLIAC Commissioner’s Award. She was a six-time All-American last month, including First Team in the 500 Free (fifth); Honorable Mention in the 200 Back (10th), 1000 Free (11th), 200 Free (11th), 800 Free Relay (10th) and 200 Medley Relay (15mth). Fox was a seven-time All-GLIAC performer (an individual can only compete in seven events) at the 2022 Championships as she won a GLIAC title in the 500 Free; finished second in the 200 Back, 1000 Free, 800 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay and 400 Medley Relay; and third in the 200 Free. In her two years of competing (did not compete in 2020-21), Fox is a 10-time All-American, including five First Team certificates (500 Free-twice, 200 Back, 400 Free Relay and 800 Free Relay) and has won five GLIAC titles (200 Free, 500 Free, 400 Free Relay, 400 Medley Relay and 800 Free Relay). She currently maintains a 3.71 cumulative GPA in accounting.
