ESPN: Ilitch Business student recognized during Sugar Bowl halftime

Wayne State University redshirt junior place-kicker Luke Bevilacqua was recognized during halftime of the 2020 Sugar Bowl game. Bevilacqua was selected to the Allstate AFCA (American Football Coaches Association) Good Works Team®, which recognizes football student-athletes for their community service efforts. Growing up Bevilacqua participated in events for Gifts for all God's Children, which included Christmas parties, plays and gifts to those less fortunate. In high school, he was part of Mission Trips that even re-shingled a man's roof.  As member of the WSU football program, Bevilacqua found an organization called "The Dream Center of Pontiac," which is, among other things, a food pantry for nearly 100 families.  Through the Warrior football team's "Be the Match" drive, he registered with the organization that matches bone marrow donors to patients who need a bone marrow transplant. In 2019, he donated two and half liters of bone marrow.
