Doctoral candidate Somak Banerjee to join Cal State faculty

Somak Banerjee, a fifth-year doctoral candidate in marketing at the Mike Ilitch School of Business, has accepted an offer for the position of assistant professor of marketing at the College of Business and Economics of California State University, Los Angeles. 

Somak has been offered a 3/3 teaching load and 1 prep for the first year. Also, he has been provided research support for the first two years. He is scheduled to start in fall 2018.

Cal State LA’s student enrollment for fall 2016 was 27,827. According to a report published by the New York Times, Cal State LA has been ranked #1 among 2,000 colleges and universities in the country for the upward mobility of students in 2017. Also, U.S. News & World Report 2018 ranks their undergraduate business program as one of the top 10 undergraduate business programs at a public institution in California for more than a decade.
