Detroit Manufacturing Renaissance Council hosting event on "The Future of Michigan Manufacturing"

The Detroit Manufacturing Renaissance Council will be hosting an event on Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 9 a.m.

The event, titled “The Future for Michigan Manufacturing,” will be held at Focus: HOPE, 1400 Oakman Blvd., Detroit.

Former manufacturing editor of the London Financial Times, Peter Marsh, will make a presentation on new industrial opportunities in Michigan and across the U.S. After his presentation, Marsh will be interviewed by John Gallagher of the Detroit Free Press.

The event also includes a panel discussion with Jim Jacobs, president of Macomb County Community College; Sridhar Kota, mechanical engineering professor at University of Michigan; and Jimmy Settles of UAW/Ford.

Peter Marsh worked with the Financial Times for four decades, working his way up to manufacturing editor. While at the Financial Times, Marsh covered technology, economics and the chemical industry. Marsh has a degree in chemistry from the University of Nottingham. In addition to his work as a journalist, Marsh is an author. His latest book is titled The New Industrial Revolution: Consumers, Globalization and the End of Mass Production.
