Crain's: OCC names Ilitch School alum Peter Provenzano new chancellor

Oakland Community College has announced that Peter Provenzano will become its full-time chancellor after a unanimous vote by board trustees. He became interim chancellor in May after the contentious ouster of Timothy Meyer. Provenzano's term will take effect Jan. 1. He joined OCC in 2014 as vice chancellor of administrative services.

Provenzano, 44, has nearly two decades in the private and public sectors. His resume includes stints as finance director for Macomb County, assistant city manager/controller for the city of Roseville and in-charge auditor for Plante Moran, according to his LinkedIn account. Provenzano has a business degree from Wayne State University and a master of public administration degree from Central Michigan University.
