Business school raises $39,373 on Giving Day

The Mike Ilitch School of Business raised $39,373 on Giving Day, Wayne State University’s 24-hour campaign on April 12, 2018. Gifts and pledges were earmarked for the school’s Faculty and Staff Endowed Scholarship, annual fund and new building in the District Detroit.

Of the 48 donors who gave specifically to the Ilitch School, 12.5% were first-time donors. Overall, Wayne State raised $411,241 from 934 donors.

“Giving Day is an important opportunity to engage and support amazing projects and programs at the Mike Ilitch School of Business,” said Vanessa Miller, alumni and donor relations officer. “Every gift – large and small – makes a difference. It’s a way for the entire Wayne State community to come together and support our students and programs.”

An anonymous donor matched gifts to the Faculty and Staff Endowed Scholarship fund up to $7,500. This scholarship was established to recognize scholastic achievement, to encourage continued progress, and to provide assistance to students in financing their education in the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
