Amanuel Tekleab welcomed into the ranks of the Academy of Teachers at Wayne State University
Amanuel Tekleab, professor of management at the Mike Ilitch School of Business has been selected as an inductee into the Academy of Teachers for the 2024-2025 academic year in recognition of his commitment to providing exceptional educations for his students, that impacts their lives far beyond the classroom.
Each year the Academy of Teachers selects up to five new members from a list of nominees who have impacted the lives of their undergraduate students through instructional excellence and innovative pedagogy to promote the culture of teaching excellence at the university, local, state and national levels.
Tekleab has been at the Ilitch School since 2006, instructing students in management and organizational behavior. His instruction emphasizes teamwork to help students develop the robust skillsets necessary for the workforce. He has previously been awarded the Mike Ilitch Inspirational Teaching Award, the President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching, and the School of Business Administration Excellence in Teaching Award
In addition to his teaching, Tekleab is an accomplished researcher, publishing papers on social exchanges in the workplace, team characteristics and processes and psychological contracts.
