Alpha Kappa Psi Foundation awards scholarships to Ilitch School students

The Alpha Kappa Psi Foundation has named 20 scholarship recipients for the upcoming 2017-18 academic year. More than $40,000 is being presented in grants in amounts ranging from $500 to $5,000. Foundation scholarships are established by chapters and individuals and endowments are used to support the annual scholarships. Some scholarships are available to all AKPsi students, while others focus on those majoring in specific fields. Applications are open to Alpha Kappa Psi members in good standing meeting the academic and community service standards in any of its active chapters in the U.S., U.K., and Canada.

  • Mahmoud Saleh was one of five students awarded $5,000. Saleh's award was supported by the Carlton J. Siegler Scholarship fund.
  • Cosmin Dordea was one of five students awarded $1,000. Dordea's award was supported by the Jennie J. Palkon née Lis and John S. Palkon Scholarship fund.

Alpha Kappa Psi is a professional co-ed business fraternity founded in 1904 with the purpose of developing its members into principled business leaders. Originally founded by four men at New York University, the professional organization now has more than 240,000 initiated members at 265 universities in the U.S., U.K. and Canada.
