2 Ilitch Business alumni inducted into the Wayne State Athletic Hall of Fame

Six former Wayne State University student-athletes have been selected for induction into the Wayne State University Athletic Hall of Fame.

The class of 2019 includes All-American baseball pitcher Anthony Bass, All-American football wide receiver Troy Burrell, national champion swimmer Ashley (Corriveau) Weaver, GLIAC Golfer of the Year Eric Johnson, All-Region basketball player Ian Larkin, and national champion diver Carly Sevald

"I want to first congratulate our newest Hall of Fame class," commented WSU Director of Athletics Rob Fournier.  "They are a snapshot of an era in WSU athletics that was exceptional – not just in terms of individual accolades, but team championships and even a national championship.

"I also want to applaud the Hall of Fame committee that did an admirable job in taking an accomplished list of representatives and recognizing this class.

The WSU Athletic Hall of Fame membership will increase to 249 with the inductions this February.

The official induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, Feb. 16 at Historic St. Andrews on the WSU campus. The reception begins at 11:30 a.m. with lunch served at noon and the program starting shortly thereafter.

Tickets for the luncheon can be purchased at the Matthaei Complex for $35 and advance reservations are required. The public is invited to attend.

In addition, the class will be introduced during the Feb. 16th basketball games vs. Purdue Northwest.
