Scholarships for business students
The scholarships and awards listed below give preference to students in the Mike Ilitch School of Business. While the Ilitch School is directly involved in selecting the recipients of certain scholarship awards, it is also asked to nominate student candidates for certain other scholarship awards other than those listed below.

John and Ethel Anthony Endowed Scholarship
Established to encourage perseverance and scholastic progress and to provide assistance to students in financing their undergraduate business education.
Suzanne M. Antonelli Scholarship in Finance
The Suzanne Antonelli Scholarship in finance provides scholarship funds for undergraduate or graduate students who are pursuing a finance degree and in good academic standing, with preference to members of the Wayne Women in Business student organization.
Gary and Kathryn Armstrong Endowed Scholarship
In deep appreciation for the educational opportunities WSU afforded them, Dr. and Mrs. Armstrong established this scholarship to help others realize those same opportunities, recognize scholastic achievement and encourage continued progress with their education.
Richard H. Austin Fund for Accounting Excellence Scholarship
Established as a tribute to the outstanding career of Richard H. Austin and to recognize the academic achievements and career potential of accounting students. Austin was the first African American Certified Public Accountant in the state of Michigan. He was elected Michigan's 39th Secretary of State in 1970 and served for a record 24 years.
Richard H. Austin and Ida Austin Endowed Scholarship
Established after Michigan's Proposal 2 was enacted, this scholarship fund provides assistance to Detroit students from underserved populations in financing their education in accounting at the Mike Ilitch School of Business. Richard H. Austin was the first African American Certified Public Accountant in the state of Michigan. He was elected Michigan's 39th Secretary of State in 1970 and served for a record 24 years.
Maxine Baughman Endowed Scholarship
Created to honor the memory of Maxine Baughman, who believed education is a way to heal conflicts and build support for people to help others. This scholarship fund was established to recognize scholastic achievement, encourage continued progress and provide assistance to students in financing their education in the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
BDO Endowed Scholarship in Accounting
Funded through the generosity of BDO Detroit to recognize an outstanding accounting student. BDO USA, LLP is the United States member firm of BDO International, a global accounting network, headquartered in Chicago, employing 11,000+ employees at 80+ locations in the United States.
Beta Alpha Psi Endowed Scholarship
Established to recognize the academic achievements of accounting majors.
Bialkowski Family Scholarship
The Bialkowski Family Scholarship was established by William J. Bialkowski, MBA '75 in memory of his parents, John and Sophia Bialkowski, to support graduate-level students with an interest in financial accounting or information systems management.
Stanton P. Bocknek Memorial Scholarship
Since 1988, this scholarship has been awarded to accounting students who demonstrate high academic achievement.
Sannyu M. Bogan-Allen Memorial Endowed Scholarship
The Sannyu M. Bogan-Allen Memorial Endowed Scholarship was established by the Bogan-Allen family to preserve and honor Sannyu's memory. The purpose of this fund is to provide scholarships to full and part-time graduate and undergraduate students who are active members of the Wayne Black Business Student Association who are in good academic standing.
Marianne Brandt Endowed Scholarship
Marianne Brandt, who was an employee of Wayne State University for more than 20 years before forming her own company, established this scholarship to recognize scholastic achievement, encourage continued progress and provide assistance to students in financing their education in the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
Lawrence and Charlynne Braun Endowed Scholarship
Established to recognize students who have displayed excellence in leadership, character and scholastic achievement.
Lily and David Broner Scholarship
Established to recognize Wayne County high school graduates and/or heads of single-caregiver households, Lily and David Broner created this scholarship for students enrolled full or part-time pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in the Mike Ilitch School of Business in good academic standing.
Lawrence and Marcia Brown Annual Scholarship
Established to recognize scholastic achievement, encourage continued progress and provide assistance to students in financing their education in the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
Theodore Buckwick Endowed Scholarship
Established to recognize scholastic achievement, encourage continued progress and provide assistance to students in financing their education at Wayne State University.
Budco Endowed Scholarship/Internship Program for Marketing and Management Students
Established to recognize scholastic achievement, encourage continued progress and provide assistance to students majoring in marketing or management in financing their education at Wayne State University.
Robert Cook Bushnell Endowed Scholarship
Established in memory of longtime Wayne State finance and business economics professor Robert Bushnell by his wife, Nan, to recognize scholastic achievement, encourage continued progress and provide assistance to students in financing their education in the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
Rebecca Joy Butler Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Established by Timothy Butler, associate professor of supply chain management, and his wife, Beverly, to honor the memory of their daughter, Becky. This scholarship seeks to provide a student who has the same zest for life, love for others and potential for leadership as their daughter with assistance in financing his or her business education.

Established by Ford Motor Company to support high-achieving students.
Irving H. Frank Memorial Award
Established to encourage a student interested in the business field.
Raymond Genick Endowed Scholarship
Awarded to an undergraduate or graduate student interested in small business management/entrepreneurship who exhibits excellence in scholastic and leadership efforts.
Mary K. and Paul A. Glantz Family Endowed Scholarship
Established to recognize scholastic achievement and leadership, encourage continued progress and provide assistance to students so that they may participate more fully in scholastic and extracurricular activities at WSU and in the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
Gummer-Angelocci Annual Scholarship
Established by Cindy Angelocci Gummer and Charles "Chuck" Gummer (M.B.A. '73) to provide assistance to graduate or undergraduate students who mirror Chuck's career path as employees or dependents of the Trenton Fire Department or Comerica Bank.
Mark W. and Deborah L. Habel Endowed Scholarship for Accounting and Information Systems Management

Denise D. Hammond Scholarship

Awarded to incoming freshman and continuing business students. George R. Husband Scholarship
Established in the memory of George Husband, who chaired the Department of Accounting from 1948 to 1958, this scholarship is presented to accounting majors who demonstrate high academic achievement.

Marjorie and Maxwell Jospey Foundation Endowed Scholarship
Maxwell Jospey attended Wayne State University before starting his illustrious career in the steel industry. This scholarship fund was established by the Marjorie and Maxwell Jospey Foundation to recognize scholastic achievement, encourage continued progress and provide assistance to students in financing their education in the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
Austin and Harriet Kanter Endowed Scholarship
Established to recognize students majoring in marketing who display outstanding scholarship, leadership and service to the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
Drs. Debra Karling and Richard Isaacs '88 Endowed Scholarship in the School of Medicine
The Drs. Debra Karling and Richard Isaacs '88 Endowed Scholarship in the School of Medicine provides scholarship funds to full-time students enrolled in the School of Medicine who are in good academic standing, and who do not demonstrate financial need. Ilitch School students in the dual enroll M.D./M.B.A. are encouraged to apply for this scholarship.
Mildred and Charles Kaye Endowed Scholarship
Established to recognize outstanding undergraduate students majoring in accounting. This scholarship endeavors to encourage continued progress and provide assistance to students in financing their education.
Wilfred Kean Memorial Scholarship
Established in 1989 in memory of alumnus Wilfred Kean, this scholarship is designated for full-time and part-time scholars in the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
Kolasa Foundation Scholarship
Established to provide scholarships to full and part-time graduate students enrolled in the Mike Ilitch School of Business who demonstrate proven leadership skills at work or in a volunteer capacity.
Carl M. and Sandra A. Krampert Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Created in memory of the Kramperts to support juniors and seniors in the Mike Ilitch School of Business who demonstrate financial need and work at least 20 hours per week while pursuing their undergraduate degree.
Jack Kuzminski Memorial Endowed Scholarship
Created in memory of a highly esteemed Mike Ilitch School of Business faculty member and brother of Delta Sigma Pi, this award is designed to honor scholastic achievement.
Allan H. Leech and Kathryn J. Fitzpatrick Endowed Scholarship
Established by Kathryn J. Fitzpatrick in memory of her late husband, Allan H. Leech, to help students achieve greater opportunity through education. Mr. Leech was the former president of Masco Corporation and a first-generation college student from the United Kingdom.
Brian M. and Irena S. Lukasik Endowed Scholarship in Accounting
Established to provide scholarships to full-time undergraduate accounting students with outstanding scholastic achievement and financial need.
E. David MacDonald Endowed Scholarship

The Bruce E. Mullican Scholarship was established in 1984 in memory of M.B.A. alumnus Bruce E. Mullican. This scholarship honors students who have displayed interest and involvement in small business management at Wayne State University.
Robert H. Naftaly Endowed Scholarship
Created to recognize Mr. Naftaly's service on the WSU Board of Governors and to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, this scholarship honors students interested or involved in careers in health care who display excellence in scholarship and leadership.
Marie L. Nash Memorial Scholarship
Recognizes scholastic achievement of graduate students in the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
Newman Family Endowed Scholarship
Established to assist business students, preferably residing in Detroit, in financing their education at Wayne State University.
Randy Paschke Endowed Scholarship in Accounting
Established in honor of Randy Paschke, former managing partner of Arthur Andersen LLP, who has gone on to serve in various capacities at the Mike Ilitch School of Business. This scholarship supports students who are in their fifth year of college and pursuing the educational requirements to become a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
Professor Sheri J. Perelli and Professor Toni M. Somers Endowed Scholarship in Management
This scholarship is to provide full and part-time Ilitch School graduate or undergraduate students pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in management awards for tuition, fees and other educational expenses. Students with a cumulative GPA of 3.0, who demonstrate financial need, and are members of Wayne Women in Business are given preference.
Joseph L. Petrella Endowed Scholarship in Accounting
Established to provide scholarships to full-time graduate students or undergraduate juniors or seniors majoring in accounting who exemplify academic excellence.

Funded through the generosity of RSM US to recognize an outstanding accounting student. RSM US LLP is the fifth largest accounting firm in the United States, employing more than 11,000 people across 86 cities nationwide and in Canada.

The Alex and Zenia Serafyn Endowed Scholarship was established to recognize talent and scholastic achievement, encourage continued progress and provide assistance to business students in financing their education at Wayne State University.
Serta Restokraft/Eugene and Mignon Kraft Family Endowed Scholarship
Established to recognize scholastic achievement and encourage continued progress of Detroit residents who intend to pursue a business or entrepreneurial career in the city of Detroit.

Ram and Lakshmi Sundaram Foundation Annual Scholarship
The Sundaram Scholarship supports full and part-time undergraduate students enrolled in the Mike Ilitch School of Business pursuing a business major and who are graduates of a City of Detroit high school with a preference for those majoring in accounting.
Tanghe Family Endowed Scholarship
The Tanghe Family scholarship was established by Rick Tanghe, MBA '69 and Irene Tanghe to support full-time undergraduate students in the Ilitch School accounting program. Students must be in good academic standing and demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to graduates of a Catholic high school in Wayne, Oakland, or Macomb counties.
Team Al Long Endowed Scholarship in Business
Established to recognize scholastic achievement and leadership efforts, and to encourage continued progress for students who are graduates of high schools.in the greater Detroit metropolitan area.
Rajan and Susan Telang Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship supports students who are in their fifth year of college and pursuing the educational requirements to become a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
