WSU Sport and Entertainment Business Association to host Detroit Lions great Herman Moore

The Wayne State University Sport and Entertainment Business Association will host Detroit Lions great and business owner Herman Moore as part of their Big Business of Sport and Entertainment event on Monday, April 15, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Community Arts Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.

Moore currently serves as partner and chief marketing officer at DSG Staffing, a certified Minority Business Enterprise professional staffing agency that specializes in recruiting temporary and permanent personnel for more than 70 companies across various industries. He is also the founder and principal of Team 84 Marketing, a certified Minority Business Enterprise full-service marketing agency offering total branding, digital development, analytics and more.

Moore was also one of the most productive wide receivers in NFL league history during his 12-year career—11 of those with the Detroit Lions. Moore was the Lions first-round pick in 1991. He was named to the NFL Pro Bowl on four occasions and NFL All-Pro three times. In October 2007, Herman Moore was among 124 modern-era players, coaches and contributors on the preliminary list of nominees for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2008. Moore was one of only seven other first-year eligible candidates to make the list.

Moderated by Lauren Clayborne, adjunct professor of Sport and Entertainment Management in the Mike Ilitch School of Business, The Big Business of Sport and Entertainment will help students gain valuable skills with regard to leadership in the Sport and Entertainment business and entrepreneurial space.

Housed within the Mike Ilitch School of Business, the Sport and Entertainment Business Association is a graduate student organization engaged in the Sport and Entertainment community within the city of Detroit. It is dedicated to providing educational experiences along with the necessary tools and professional networking encounters to prepare students for careers in the Sport and Entertainment industry and ensure that Wayne State students have first exposure for career opportunities in Detroit and beyond.

Upon completion of the professional Q&A session with Moore, the event will transition into an elegant networking space via strolling cocktail hour with light refreshments. Students from all WSU colleges and majors are invited to register today.
