President Emeritus and Director of Wayne State’s Forum on Contemporary Issues in Society (FOCIS) Irvin D. Reid was a panelist in the ESG3 Summit in New York City, sponsored by Thomson Reuters, on April 7.

The ESG3 Summit covered the latest practices and technologies, as well as emerging methodologies, of ESG (environmental, social and governance criteria) performance in capital markets, according to its website.

Reid was at the conference representing higher education, and was a panelist in the seminar, “The Board of the Future: Can Boards and Activists Align on Matters of Board Composition and Diversity?”

Reid was joined by other panelists Jared L. Landaw, chief operating officer of Barington Capital Group L.P., and Mary Hartman Morris, investment officer in corporate governance at CalSTRS.

Reid served as WSU’s president from 1997-2008. He continues to serve on the faculty of the Mike Ilitch School of Business.
