Wayne State University Honors Grosse Pointer, CFO of Lear

The School of Business named Matthew J. Simoncini its 2011 Distinguished Alumnus.

Grosse Pointe Park resident Matthew J. Simoncini was named the 2011 Distinguished Alumus of Wayne State University's School of Business Administration. 

He is senior vice president and the chief financial officer of Lear Corporation and a certified public accountant, according to a Wayne State University press release.

Simoncini serves on the Swing for Students golf outing for Wayne State and has worked to secure corporate sponsorship, including Lear. The organization supports scholarships for students of the business administration school.

He was also recognized by Crain's Detroit Business as the 2011 CFO of the Year in the category of corporations that exceed $250 million revenue. His recognition with Crain's stemmed from his leadership in Lear's Chapter 11 reorganization.
