School to host panel discussion on August 16 for professionals, alumni and students interested in pricing issues

The School of Business Administration's Department of Marketing & Supply Chain Management will host a panel discussion on Thursday, August 16, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at MotorCity Casino Hotel for industry professionals, students and alumni interested in learning about key pricing challenges facing businesses today.

As part of the 14th Annual Pricing Conference, four senior business executives with deep pricing expertise will share their knowledge in this special breakout session of the academic conference.

“This session will be an excellent forum for practitioners and academics to come together and share ideas,” said Margaret Williams, dean of Wayne State’s business school.

“We have lined up a great panel of experts who will share their insights about important trends and changes in the pricing domain across industries, especially how consumers respond to various pricing mechanisms.”

The panel discussion, Pricing Challenges Faced by Businesses, features the following panelists:

  • Ram Balasubramanian, Vice President, Global Pricing, Marriott International
  • Jeff Rolfs, Finance Director for Pricing and Incentives, General Motors
  • Marc Rubin, former Vice President of Global Pricing Strategy, Estée Lauder
  • Julian Ryu, Senior Manager, Pricing and Profitability Management, Deloitte Consulting

Attending the panel discussion is complimentary, but seats are limited. The conference organizers request that prospective attendees email their contact information to wsupricing2012@gmail.com by close of business on August 12 to ensure that a slot is reserved.

Attendees are welcome to stay for light snacks immediately following the panel discussion and attend the academic research panel that follows, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Complimentary valet parking is available at MotorCity Casino Hotel. More information about the full conference is available here .
