School of Business welcomes five new tenure-track faculty

The School of Business Administration is pleased to announce the appointment of five new tenure-track faculty members. Joining an already impressive faculty, this young group of academicians brings considerable research credentials, as well as an enthusiasm for teaching and a commitment to providing a quality educational experience for our students.

Faculty and students in the areas of accounting, finance, information systems management and global supply chain management will be the first beneficiaries of their knowledge base. We anticipate that their contributions both in and out of the classroom will bring them professional success individually, as well as continue to enhance the reputation of our entire school for years to come.
 

Atif Ikram
Assistant Professor,
Department of Finance
Corporate Finance, Financial Markets & Institutions, Investments

Dr. Ikram’s research interests include empirical corporate finance, corporate governance, and executive compensation. His current research explores pre-IPO compensation structures and the consequences of hedge fund managers’ over-optimism. Dr. Ikram earned both his Ph.D in finance and his M.Sc. in economics from Arizona State University.

 

Xiaowen Jiang
Assistant Professor
Department of Accounting
Intermediate Financial Accounting

Dr. Jiang’s main research concerns financial reporting and capital markets.

She earned her D.B.A. in accounting from Boston University, and M.S. in accounting from the Southwest University of Finance and Economics (China). Prior to her appointment at WSU, she was an assistant professor in the College of Business at the University of Cincinnati.

 

Pyung K. Kang
Assistant Professor
Department of Accounting
Intermediate Financial Accounting

Dr. Kang’s primary research interests include financial accounting and capital markets, market anomalies, earnings management, and corporate governance.

Dr. Kang earned his Ph.D in accounting from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, and his Master of Professional Accountancy from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University – Bloomington.

 

Natalia Lorinkova
Assistant Professor
Department of Management & Information Systems
Human Resource Management

In her research, Dr. Lorinkova is currently exploring developmental and change leadership as influence mechanisms for individual and team performance, as well as employee intra- and inter-firm social capital as drivers of individual and firm performance.

She earned her Ph.D in organizational behavior/human resource management from the Robert H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland, College Park, and her M.B.A. from the School of Public Policy and Management at the Korean Development Institute, Seoul, South Korea. Dr. Lorinkova has also worked for the Samsung Electronics Corporation, assisting in its application process for Southern European Public Tenders.


Tingting Yan
Assistant Professor
Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management
Operations and Supply Chain Management

Dr. Yan’s research areas include supply network collaboration in innovation, the role of culture in supply chain management, new product development and innovation adoption and diffusion.

She earned her Ph.D in supply chain management from Arizona State University, and an M.S. in management science from Fundan University, Shanghai, China.
