PwC MPREP Scholars adds new team member

Deric Williams has joined the Wayne State University Mike Ilitch School of Business as a coordinator for the school’s PwC MPREP (Multicultural Professional Readiness Education Program) Scholars program.

A collaborative effort between Wayne State and PricewaterhouseCoopers, or PwC, MPREP is a unique learning community designed to encourage, support, develop and retain multicultural business students.

Williams, who earned his M.B.A. at Wayne State, will work alongside Lynita Taylor, diversity and inclusion program manager at the Ilitch School and MPREP’s director.

As coordinator, he will also serve as a mentor and resource to the MPREP Scholar’s more than 60 students and assist Taylor with daily tasks and responsibilities. He will have a dual role as a career counselor in the Ilitch School’s Career Planning and Placement Office.

Williams predicts that MPREP will continue to improve and expand. In less than two years, the program has more than tripled in size from its original goal of 20 students. It is also now open to all majors within the business school.

“I think MPREP is an amazing program,” Williams said. “I’m really looking forward to working with Lynita and others to take it even further.”
