Obituary for alumnus and donor Charles Kaye

Charles Kaye (Accounting, ’46) of Southfield, MI, died Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the age of 88.

Kaye, a CPA, enjoyed a successful accounting career until his retirement two years ago at age 86. A World War II veteran, he received numerous honors, including three bronze stars and a Purple Heart, among other decorations. In 2010, Kaye received France’s highest honor when he was inducted into the French Legion of Honor.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Mildred Kaye; two daughters, Barbara Kaye (John Hogikyan) and the late Diane Lynn Kaye; two granddaughters, Laura and Allison Hogikyan; and one son-in-law, Irving Shapiro.

Charles Kaye was a generous donor to the School of Business Administration. His family requests that those who wish to honor his memory make contributions to the Mildred and Charles Kaye Endowed Scholarship Fund.
