Mike Ilitch School of Business welcomes two new academic advisors

Christie Pagel and Patricia Michno are the newest advisors in the Mike Ilitch School of Business’ Undergraduate Student Services Office.

Meet Christie Pagel

Pagel will primarily be advising in the area of finance and will also be assisting accounting majors. She has a bachelor’s degree in secondary education from Eastern Michigan University and a master’s degree in public administration from Central Michigan University. She also has a current Professional Teaching Certificate in the State of Michigan.

She is currently a student at WSU. While she’s not in a specific program, she is currently taking classes for professional development and personal interest, and will apply for a graduate certificate program within the next semester.

“I am most looking forward to assisting Mike Ilitch School of Business students reach their educational goals,” she said. “I enjoy working with students and I am excited to be a part of the Wayne State team!”

Meet Patricia Michno

Michno will be advising in both marketing and management. She earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology here at WSU and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in community counseling in the College of Education. She previously worked as the assistant to the coordinator of the Academic Success Center.

She hopes to continue her studies here at Wayne State and obtain a Ph.D. in Counselor Education. She has a passion for learning and enjoys sharing that passion with her students as she helps them on her journey to academic success.

“I’m thrilled to start working here,” Michno said. “I’m so excited because of my past experience at the Academic Success Center. It’s a great blend to take that knowledge here to help students be the best they can be.”
