Ilitch School scholarships top $500k for second straight year

The Mike Ilitch School of Business will provide more than $500,000 in scholarship funds to new and returning students during the 2016-17 academic year. This is the second straight year that the Ilitch School has awarded more than $500,000 to its students.

Scholarship funding came from the school’s 72 named scholarships, which target students in specific disciplines. In addition, the school also offered $2,000 scholarships to business students who were accepted into the Warriors Business Community. Scholarships for continuing graduate and undergraduate students totaled up to $247,350.

“The generosity of our scholarship donors is a tribute to our donors and is making a significant impact on the lives of our students,” said Linda Zaddach, assistant dean of student services.

Scholarship donors and recipients will be honored at the school’s annual Recognition and Awards Program on Aug. 25.

Additional scholarship opportunities are offered through the university’s Office of Student Financial Aid along with the Graduate School. In all, Wayne State University offers more than $350 million annually in financial aid and scholarships to its students.
