Hey, Wayne State! Got an app for that?

WSU’s Office of Economic Development and Blackstone LaunchPad are giving away $5,000 in cash prizes in the first ever, campus-wide Mobile App Competition. Open to Wayne State faculty, staff, alumni and students, the competition challenges budding programmers and developers to create an app that improves the Wayne State experience.

Those interested should attend the Matchmaking and Q&A event, 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 9 at the College of Engineering’s Ford Student Activity Center (map).

Enjoy light refreshments, find and recruit teammates, discuss app ideas, and learn about resources available to assist in app development. You can also ask questions about the process and judging criteria to competition organizers and judges, including Nathan Hughes, co-founder of Detroit Labs.
