Emagine to reopen Birmingham theater, offer memberships

The Emagine Palladium is set to reopen Oct. 2.  The updated theater will feature an upper floor, a restaurant, a full bar with drink delivery service and bigger, more comfortable seats. The new operators plan to sell annual memberships to households that come with numerous perks from advance ticket sales and preferential seating choices to a free ticket and meal on birthdays.

"We are confident that we are building the movie theater of the future where guests can reconnect with movies in an environment that is as comfortable as their own living room, but with one major improvement: we'll clean up after them," said Paul Glantz, co-founder and chairman of Emagine Entertainment and School of Business graduate (B.A. '80). "The movie-goers of Birmingham will be delighted."
