DTE Energy executive joins Mike Ilitch School of Business advisory board

The Mike Ilitch School of Business at Wayne State University is proud to welcome Diane Antishin as a member of its Board of Visitors.

Antishin is vice president of human resources operations for DTE Energy, a Detroit-based diversified energy company involved in the development and management of energy-related businesses and services nationwide. DTE Energy’s operating units include an electric utility serving 2.1 million customers in Southeastern Michigan and a natural gas utility serving 1.2 million customers in Michigan. The DTE Energy portfolio also includes non-utility energy businesses focused on power and industrial projects, natural gas pipelines, gathering and storage, and energy marketing and trading. As one of Michigan's leading corporate citizens, DTE Energy is a force for growth and prosperity in the 450 Michigan communities it serves in a variety of ways, including philanthropy, volunteerism and economic progress.

Antishin is responsible for talent acquisition and HR consulting for DTE’s utility and non-utility businesses, as well as workforce planning and analytics, compensation, benefits and wellness functions, and strategic labor and employee relations.

Antishin joined DTE Energy in 2008 as director of human relations where she led the company’s labor relations and employee relations activities. Her many achievements include spearheading work with union leaders and management to increase union employee engagement while managing challenging labor negotiations that resulted in significant savings for health care and other benefits.  As a result, DTE’s union employee engagement has, over time, made outstanding progress. Prior to joining DTE, she was director of labor relations at American Axle & Manufacturing, Inc. Her career spans over 25 years in the utility and automotive industry and includes operations assignments as productivity manager and manufacturing supervisor.

Antishin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration degree with concentration in Human Resources Management from Wayne State University. She attended the Ross School of Business Executive Education program at the University of Michigan and is currently a participant in Leadership Oakland’s Class LOXXVI.

Antishin serves on the board of directors for the American Society of Employers and is also a member of the HR Policy Association’s labor relations advisory and employment rights committees.  She is a board member of the Haven-Oakland Foundation, a nonprofit organization which provides support to victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse, and a past board member of the Women’s Caring Program. She draws inspiration from her favorite quote:  “We see the world not as it is, but as we are.”

Board of Visitors members serve at the invitation of the dean. Their role is to advise and support the dean on the strategic direction and advancement of the school. A full board roster is available here.
