Department chairs hired to lead new academic departments

The School of Business Administration recently hired chairs to lead two of the new academic departments created by the reorganization of the school in September 2009. The Department of Finance, Department of Management and Information Systems and Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management replace the former Department of Business. The Department of Accounting remains unchanged.

The reorganization created openings for three department chairs. Randolph Paschke continues to serve as chair of the Department of Accounting and is also acting as the interim chair for the Department of Finance until the fourth chair is hired.

The School of Business welcomed Fred Morgan as chair of the Department of Marketing and Supply Chain Management during the fall 2009 semester. Morgan earned his Ph.D. at Michigan State University in 1972. He joined Wayne State from the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics where he served as a professor of marketing and director of the MBA program.

Margaret L. Williams joined the school in January as chair of the Department of Management and Information Systems. Williams earned her Ph.D. from Indiana University in 1989. She was previously associate professor of management at Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Business.

Fred Morgan can be reached at 313-577-6664 or fred.morgan@wayne.edu and Margaret L. Williams, at 313-577-8598 or margaret.l.williams@wayne.edu
