Crain’s Detroit Business: Fourteen East to temporarily close, reopen in WSU's school of business

Fourteen East cafe is leaving its longtime home on Woodward Avenue in the Park Shelton — but it isn't going far. The shop is planning a new location at 2771 Woodward Ave. in Midtown in the Wayne State University's Mike Ilitch School of Business, the Midtown shop announced in a Facebook post. The cafe is scheduled to close its Park Shelton spot at 15 E Kirby Street on Aug. 24 and reopen at its new home Dec. 1, the post says. Fourteen East, which serves up coffee, tea and pastries, opened its doors in 2011 on the first floor of the Park Shelton, also home to high-end diner Babo Detroit, which opened this summer.
