Commonwealth McCann global strategy director to speak at Ilitch School

The WSU chapter of the American Advertising Federation has invited a presenter from Detroit-based company Commonwealth McCann to speak at Wayne State. The event, featuring Global Strategy Director Charlie Quirk, will be held Jan. 21, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in room 25 of the Prentis Building.

The topics covered will be:

Planning for Content: Cutting through the Noise in the Age of Distraction

Content Strategy is the new black. With six billion Google searches made every day around the world, brands are now competing with YouTube videos, Tweets and Facebook rants for attention. Here, we’ll discuss techniques brands can use to cut through this noise and reach their audience in the most effective and engaging ways.

Manufacturing Immediacy: Creating Demand in a World of Abundance

In an age of abundant content, it’s becoming increasingly harder for advertising to get noticed. We’ll examine the techniques that brands, publishers, artists and celebrities are using to build a sense of urgency and demand for the content they create.

This event is free, but space is limited. Reserve your spot today by contacting Stacy Yoder, president of the Wayne State University chapter of the American Advertising Federation, at eq8255@wayne.edu.
