College spotlight: Wayne State University football to host top-25 team

After losing its opening game of the season to Michigan Tech on the last play of the game, Wayne State University's (0-1 overall, 0-1 GLIAC) football team will have a chance to earn its first win of the season against Carson-Newman, in what will be just the third collegiate night game in the history of Adams Field. Although Wayne State coach Paul Winters acknowledged that "there's nothing you can say that makes that any better," in regards to last week's loss, on the plus side, quarterback and finance major Carl Roscoe's 239 passing yards were a career-high, with his two touchdown passes tying a career-high. Saturday’s game will be Wayne State's only non-conference contest this season, scheduled for 6 p.m.
