Alumni in the news: CEO's vision for Aetna will have big impact on Hartford

Mark Bertolini, the Aetna Inc. chief executive who favors yoga over corporate accounting and meditation over spreadsheets, now faces a more traditional and demanding challenge for a corporate leader. The Wayne State business school graduate and Detroit auto worker's son is seeking to transform Aetna in a $37 billion deal to buy Louisville-based Humana Inc. and extend the Hartford insurer's reach into the Medicare Advantage market serving millions of seniors.
