Beta Alpha Psi positions students for success

Student organization Beta Alpha Psi, a business fraternity, provides students with the tools and experience they need to succeed in the business world.

Vice President Conner Dabish says BAP stands out because of its commitment to preparing members for success.

“We host an event every two weeks or so that are exclusive to BAP members,” he said. “We do workshops such as resume building, networking, excel, headshots, interviewing and more. We introduce members to skills that are vital to succeeding in the business field, like excel formulas, how to answer interview questions and how to network with other professionals.”

Dabish joined BAP the first semester of his freshman year and advanced to treasurer before moving up to vice president of the organization.

“Being vice president of BAP has made me into a better leader each and every day,” he said.

A unique aspect of BAP is its exclusive afterglows during accounting recruiting season, during which members and recruiters can connect on a more intimate level.

“I personally have met many recruiters and made many connections with staff at multiple firms because of BAP afterglows. They are more personal events, and these connections I've made have led to leadership and internship positions,” he added.

“Seeing all the hard work my team and I have put into organizing and executing afterglows and meetings – and the great end result of those events – has pushed me to become a better leader,” he said. “Being a team leader is a great trait to have in the business world and I am lucky to have BAP to shape me into a better leader.”

The organization's next event is a resume workshop on Thursday, Oct. 26, from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in Student Center Room 285.
