Basem Younis is a senior in the Mike Ilitch School of Business accelerated M.B.A. (AGRADE) program. He is involved in many student organizations at Wayne State. He is currently the president of the International Business Association chapter on campus and is an active member of the Business Student Senate and Beta Alpha Psi. As a means of giving back to the community, Basem also serves the treasurer for both Nutri-Wayne and the Rotaract Club at WSU.

Basem began his professional career while interning at American Institute Management Services, where his responsibilities included creating ad-hoc reports, handling invoices, managing payroll and performing budget-variance analyses. This internship grew his interest in accounting, and he decided to gain more experience by becoming a VITA tax preparer for the Accounting Aid Society.

Basem intends to return to Wayne State in Fall 2020 to acquire his J.D./M.B.A. with a concentration in corporate and real estate law to better prepare himself to handle operations at his family's property firm, Younis Enterprise.
