Marta Kopania

2018 Mike Ilitch School of Business 25 Under 25 winner

B.S. in Finance and Information Systems Management expected May 2019

Marta Kopania says her passion for entrepreneurship fuels her to drive to be successful in the business world.

In the summer following her freshman year, Marta interned with the Silicon Valley Investment Group based in Santa Clara, CA, as a real estate agent assistant/project management intern, where she gained valuable experience about one of the most competitive real estate markets in the country.

After her sophomore year, Marta landed a full-time position with the Westin Book Cadillac as an income auditor. Her responsibilities include reconciling balance sheet accounts, capital accumulation projects and daily audit tasks. Originally, the Westin was seeking a college graduate, but Marta was able to leverage her business connections to secure the position.

Marta is also highly involved on campus. She is the vice president of human resources for the Financial Management Association. She volunteers for EnACT Your Future, a collective of social entrepreneurs committed to improving educational outcomes for students. Marta is also a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, the largest professional business fraternity on campus. When she is not doing on-campus activities, she's busy with running her own swimwear line, 1NE SWIM.

"One of the most valuable lessons I learned at the Mike Ilitch School of Business is there is no growth in comfort and no comfort in growth, changing my fixed mindset helped advance my professional and educational pursuit," Marta says.
